Green rows her way into elite

Lismores Hannah Green cuts a swathe during last years Coraki Regatta. Hannas efforts have earned her a spot in the Academy rowing program.

Lismores Hannah Green has been selected to join the North Coast Academy of Sports (NCAS) new 16 strong pre-elite rowing program. Hannah will be joined by two other local rowers from Skennars Head, Jodie and Tahlia Butler.

Each athlete was selected after extensive testing and on account of their impressive results at state and national regattas.

We normally would not name any of our academy sport squads as pre-elite but in this case, with the extraordinary success of these athletes at state and national level earlier this year, and the potential that we can see possible over the coming season, the pre-elite title is much deserved, said NCAS sports liaison officer, John Kincade. Our goal for these athletes over the next 12 to 24 months is to bring each athlete closer to selection into the NSW Rowing Blues Squad and national junior or under 23 selection.

The pre-elite program involves live-in camps approximately every four weeks between October and April.
