Poet in a class of her own

What it means to be a poet and how to become a better one are two issues to be discussed during a two-day masterclass to be presented by Northern Rivers Writers Centre and led by Sydney-based poet Judith Beveridge in Byron Bay on November 11 and 12.

Judiths masterclass, called Delving Deep Into Poetry, will explore the discipline and craft of writing poetry, highlighting the importance of editing and drafting.

This masterclass is open to published poets. Judith has published three books of poetry The Domesticity of Giraffes, Accidental Grace and Wolf Notes.

She is currently the poetry editor of Meanjin and teaches post-graduate poetry at Sydney University.

Cost for the course is $130 for NRWC members and $160 for non-members. Bookings are essential. Phone 6685 5115 or email
