The Dunoon Village Cricket Team will be trying out the Dunoon Sports and Recreation Clubs new lights in their season opening 20Twenty match against Tullera on Saturday, October 28. The trial night match is just to check out the new lights and to celebrate the beginning of the 40 overs per side season.
Eight teams will compete in this years Village Green competition, with Clunes returning to the fold after 10 years in the cricket wilderness. The rejuvenated Clunes line-up will be up against some stiff opposition from Eltham, Federal, Corndale, Caniaba, Rosebank, Dunoon and Tullera.
The Village Green season of seven matches is run every third Sunday with the final on March 25.
Although most of the teams have adequate numbers now, as the season progresses injury is sure to strike. People interested in getting a run in the low stress, high entertainment competition should phone Graeme Drew at the Dunoon Sports and Recreation Club on 6689 5444.
