NORPAs next theatre project is a big one. Electric Lenin incorporates music, theatre and projected imagery into a story about a North Coast farmer in the 60s who, despite his rural isolation, developed relationships across the globe via his ham radio.
Electric Lenin will premiere at Lismore City Hall on November 22. (For bookings phone 6621 5600 or visit www.norpa.org.au.)
The show is now in pre-production with the set design and visual projections well underway and full rehearsals with performers Jason Barry-Smith (baritone), Gaye MacFarlane (mezzo soprano) and musicians due to start soon.
Electric Lenin presents a confluence of music, text, performance and digital imagery. Using elements of opera, movement, video projections, live and recorded sound, Electric Lenin pushes the boundaries of the music theatre genre.
