Peters gig

Theres something special about Lucinda Peters. Even before she had an album or had even played a gig outside a bar or restaurant, Lucinda appeared on the front cover of The Sydney Morning Heralds Metro entertainment guide. She lit up the Sydney scene with her remarkable voice, her skilled double-bass playing (now theres a sexy instrument) and her advanced songwriting prowess.

Now she has that debut album, Desert Stars, and will perform at the Byron Community Centre on Saturday, October 21, from 8pm.

Tickets are $22 and available from the venue (6685 5659).

Freebie: The Echo has a double pass to give away to some lucky music lover. To go in the draw to win phone 6622 2888 between 11 & 11.15am next Monday, October 16, and tell us the name of the Peter Carey novel which has the name Lucinda in it. Hint: the film of the book didnt win an Oscar.
