Carers of older people with a mental illness or dementia can can get support and information by visiting the North Coast Area Health Service Older Persons Mental Health Groups information stall at Lismore Shopping Square on Monday and Thursday, October 16 and 19.
The stall will be operating on those days from 9am-3pm.

In an Australia-wide first Australian Red Cross can now equip trainees with the skills to respond by incorporating accredited defibrillation training in its first aid courses.
If youve been thinking about doing a first aid course or would like to find out more, the Red Cross will be demonstrating the new automated external defibrillation machine and other first aid equipment at the Lismore Shopping Square next Thursday, October 19.

A group of inspirational women who have beaten breast cancer are embarking on a journey from Sydney to Brisbane on the back of Harley-Davidson motorcycles to raise awareness and give hope to other breast cancer sufferers.
The Amazon Heart Thunder ride, which includes 16 women from Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom, will be stopping in Ballina at Seaside Motorcycles next Monday, October 16. Starting at 1.30pm, there will be a public information session and the women will share their experiences, survival stories and reasons for taking on the motorcycle challenge.
The National Breast Cancer Centre recommends that all women from the age of 50 have a regular mammogram. They also advise women to be aware of the normal look and feel of their breasts, and to see their doctor immediately if there are any unusual signs.
