Yeager paddles up a storm

Lismores Mark Yeager paddled his way into second place in the Queensland State Canoe Marathon Racing Championships at Currumbin Creek in Queensland last Sunday. Mark came in only four minutes behind top up-and-coming Australian Under 18 representative, Dane Wilkinson, in a gruelling 15km race in high winds.

Fellow Far North Coast Canoe Club (FNCCC) representative Tony White, who is a committee member of the Lismore club, performed the role of chief official for the event.

The FNCCC has a come and try day for people interested in joining the club and pursuing the sport of kayaking this Sunday, October 8, from 8.45am. Anyone interested should register with Marion Brownlie on 6624 6998.
