Over the past 15 years the Nimbin School of Arts has produced annual exhibitions during the spring holidays to show off Nimbins creative talents to the rest of the universe. The Spring Arts Exhibition has developed into the major arts expo for the local community, showcasing the Nimbin valleys many fine artists, craft workers, designers, textile artists, weavers, photographers and installation artists.

Once you enter the Nimbin Town Hall youll find amazing felt designs and painted gourds, stunning macro-photography of native birds and flowers, a multitude of paintings from intricate portraits to flamboyant abstracts, plus delicate pottery, unique sculptures and much more.

Weve already had more than a thousand people come through this weekend the art is of a very high standard and weve developed a great reputation, said exhibition committee member, David Hallett. The great strength of the exhibition is it shows yet another fascinating aspect of Nimbin. We cop a lot of commentary and criticism out there but this show gives visitors a chance to see the rich and diverse cultural side of Nimbin.

The Spring Arts Exhibition is open daily from 10am-4pm until October 15 and entry is free.

There will also be grand piano and other music recitals throughout the exhibition for visitors to enjoy with their art.
