Dolphin gala

The Romaniacs won a Dolphin Award for best country song last year and are contenders again this year for the world music category with their song Mesopotamia from their Rainbow Town CD. They will be performing at the Dolphin Awards gala gig.

The finalists for this years Dolphin Awards have been announced. People can find out the final winners at the Dolphin Awards gala presentation night at the Beach Hotel in Byron on Tuesday, October 10. This is the 15th annual local music industry awards and will showcase some of the fine talent in this area as well as giving awards to the worthy.

Among those performing on the night are Diana Anaid, The Love Bus, The Romaniacs, Invisible Friend and Tarshito.

Last year Dolphin winners The Romaniacs said, Were very much looking forward to performing at the awards this year. The Dolphin Awards are our own North Coast music awards, and considering the huge amount of talent in our region, its an honour and really good publicity to be given an award by our peers.

Tickets are $25 from the Beach Hotel Bottleshop, Music Bizarre in Lismore (6622 3262) and at the ABC Centre in Ballina (6686 2436).
