Festival of art in Ballina

This artwork by Steve Cook is one of the many acquired over the past three decades by Southern Cross School and is on display at the Southern Cross Arts Festival.

The 33rd annual Southern Cross Arts Festival opens this Friday night, September 29, at the gymnasium of Southern Cross School in East Ballina. It runs until next Tuesday, October 3.

There will also be a display of the acquisitive artworks bought by the P&C over the past 33 years.

The judges are Jude McBean and Gary Corbett from Grafton and Tweed Regional Art Galleries and visitors will be able to contribute by voting in the popular Peoples Choice Prize.

Each day theres something different happening Saturday is guided tour day; Sunday is demonstration day; Monday is family fun day; and Tuesday is relaxation day.
