Danielle struts her way to stardom

Alstonvilles Danielle Ward (pictured) is just a catwalk away from being crowd the Bartercard Miss Indy for 2006 after she recently won the One & Bar Nightclub grand final in Lismore.

The 20-year-old waitress will compete against 39 other finalists from Australia and New Zealand when she takes to the stage for the grand final of Bartercard Miss Indy on October 19 at the Gold Coast.

Danielle is not only competing for the title of Miss Indy but also a $10,000 Bartercard promotional contract, an Aprilia scooter, a Ralph magazine feature shoot, a seven-night Magic Mountain Resort holiday plus clothing and much more. She will also feature on the cover of the Bartercard Miss Indy Calendar and be flown to Mexico to compete for the title of Face of Champ Car.

The girls in the competition were all just awesome and really, really beautiful, Danielle said of her competition. I couldnt believe it when my name was called out. Its been great to get my face out there and get known and its really boosted my self-confidence.

Danielles dream is to be a make-up artist and she hopes to study make-up artistry at TAFE once the buzz of Miss Indy dies down.

I would love to do behind the scenes make-up on movie stars or maybe do the make-up for famous models, she said.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day.
