Our great Aussie values

John Howard (and Kim Beazley) are right in demanding that immigrants should show allegiance to Australian core values, as displayed by our leaders. So what are the values we want upheld:

Equality before the law! (for all those who can afford a lawyer); A fair go! (meaning you can have a fair go at anyone below you on the social scale); Mateship! (lets get pissed together and burn rubber); Freedom of choice! (in regards to taking a job or not); Honesty! (unless it furthers our wealth or helps winning an election); Quality education for every child! (whose parent can afford to pay for it); Freedom of enterprise! (We dont care about people as long as it adds shareholder value).

I also suggest a week on the visitor gallery in Canberra as compulsory introduction to Australian culture. Now, wouldnt that be the solution to unwanted immigration?

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
