Mackney to control national titles

Local Football Far North Coast premier league referee Luke Mackney has been selected to officiate at the upcoming Youth National Titles at Coffs Harbour International Stadium from September 30.

Mackney, who is just 22, is one of three referees under the age of 23 who regularly feature in the Far North Coast premier league, and was one of just two referees from northern NSW to be selected. Mackney will join 18 referees from around Australia at the titles.

Football Federation Australia Far North Coast Referees president David Nolan said that Lukes selection was just reward for his refereeing efforts both on and off the field. He took up the whistle at just 16.
