Con seeks donations for silent auction

The Northern Rivers Conservatorium is holding a silent auction on Wednesday, October 18, at the Great Northern Hotel in Byron.

They are now looking for donations of goods and services to auction off. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and sponsors will be acknowledged on the night and entered into a major raffle.

On the night, members of the public will be able to wander through the range of items on display and choose lots that interest them, making a silent bid on a ticket and keeping an eye on the big whiteboard to check for the highest bid.

To donate goods or services, contact the Conservatorium on 6621 2266 and they will arrange collection.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
