Ballina enjoys a deluge

Lismore Swans played Ballina in torrential rain at Fripp Oval on Sunday. Ballina were victorious, thrashing their opponents 15.10.100 to 2.3.15.

On a day that will arguably go down as Ballinas wettest day in living memory, the preliminary finals of the Junior AFL were played out. In the Under 12s Brunswick held on for a hard fought win against the Ballina Bomber 5.5.29 to 2.5.17. Brunswick will now meet Plateau Power in the grand final in Alstonville this Sunday, September 17, at 10.30am.

In the Under 14s the Ballina Bombers were way too strong for the Lismore Swans and won the game convincingly 15.10.100 to 2.3.15. Despite torrential rain the Bombers kicking eight goals in the final quarter to dispatch of the city-siders.

Ballina will now play the grand final against Byron Magpies at Hill Park Oval in Alstonville this Sunday, September 17, at 12pm.
