Theatre for teenagers

Children love to play. As they get older sometimes that expression and playfulness tends to be neglected. Unfortunately. Playing and especially play-acting is good for people.

Lismore Theatre Company (LTC) will be conducting a Youth Theatre Project during October and November. It involves a series of weekly training workshops over those two months and finishes with a theatrical production in early December.

The workshops will last for a few hours and will be held outside school hours (of course) possibly on the weekends. Cost will be minimal.

So if youre between 12 and 18 years of age and live in the Lismore/Goonellabah area, phone Mike Russo on 6684 4886 or 0429 303 798, or Jennie Hicks on 6687 9167 or 0431 958 991.

LTC is also keen to hear from tutors with qualifications and/or experience in theatre performance.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
