Choir to lift cathedral roof

The Brisbane Concert Choir will sing in Lismore. (Well, they are a choir...)

St Carthages Cathedral in Lismore is a fine looking old building. But inside is where the magic happens. As well as being one of Gods residences, it has fantastic acoustics that lend themselves most beautifully to orchestras and choirs.

The group Friends of the Cathedral will make excellent use of those acoustic plusses when they stage a concert by the Brisbane Concert Choir inside the cathedral on Sunday, September 24.

The choir of 50 voices will perform a program that includes Allegris Misere, a selection of Brahms Liebeslieder, Mozarts Regina Coeli and many other choral classics from a variety of modern and not-so-modern composers.

Formed in 1996 they have performed throughout Queensland with the Queensland Orchestra and Brisbane Chorale, toured overseas, released a CD and been involved with performances for ABC Classic FM, and Classic FM Festival of Classics.

Tickets are $15/12 and the singing starts at 2pm.
