Barbers Cup

On September 16 and 17 Lismore Tennis will again host the juniors from the Manning region for the fifth Barbers Cup. The Barbers Cup is played on a home and away basis each year and our juniors travelled to Taree in March where the Mid North Coast team were victorious. Our team will again be relying on our strong older juniors led by Ellie Wray and Kristy Jones in the girls and Luke Devlin and Max Rowed in the boys.

The event is designed to provide competition tennis for our many younger players, and they will gain experience in singles, doubles and mixed games. Play will start at 2pm on Saturday and will conclude at 2pm on Sunday.

The team from Manning have won the last two events and the Lismore team will be keen to exact revenge on the southern visitors.

Summerland Age Titles

Entry forms are now available for the upcoming Summerland Age Titles to be held in Lismore on October 14 and 15. This long running junior tournament caters for juniors from all over our region and attracts players from many country areas around the state. All ages from nine to 18 years of age are welcome and any further information and entry forms can be obtained from me at Lismore Tennis Centre.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
