Rugby search

he North Coast Academy of Sport (NCAS) is seeking talented rugby union players to trial for its Warringah Rugby Club NCAS 2006-07 squad.

To be eligible to trial for the 24-player squad boys must be turning 15 or 16 years in 2007, and reside on the North Coast.

Selection will be determined by a preliminary trial in each of the two supporting rugby zones of Far North Coast and Mid-North Coast in late October and by a final combined trial.

Last years program provided a successful staging ground for two local lads Alex Butchies (Lennox Head) and Andrew Barnes (Tabulam) who were selected for the Under 16s NSW Country squad after being part of the Warringah side.

For applications visit the NCAS website at or phone 6620 3073. A $10 trial fee applies. Applications close on September 29.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
