Feasting, Lismore style
Okay. Imagine youre sitting under the stars in the Lismore springtime with a table of friends. Then out comes a six-course meal with courses like slowly baked spring lamb, kouneli cigars (thats a dish featuring Kyogle-bred rabbit), mud crab, Yamba king prawns, Bangalow sweet pork, and meze platters with local olives and macadamia oil.
Add some organic greens and voila! you have the Lismore Feast with celebrity chef Peter Conistis working his magic in the kitchen on Saturday, September 9, in the gardens of Lismore City Hall.
This is Greek cuisine with a North Coast flavour.
With live music from Quarteto Batida featuring guitar maestro Jim Kelly, vibraphone man Kym Ambrose and Anje West (the singer from The View From Madeleines Couch), the evening will be a sophisticated satisfying of the senses.
De Bortoli wine will be supplied. Each course demands the right type of wine. Of course.
The dinner starts at 6.30pm and costs $120. (Groups of eight or more are $100 per person.)
