Daleys odds on favourites

Woodlawn Herrons centre Nicky Melino looks for support during her teams division two 35-13 win over the Cheeky Rats last Saturday.

Daleys are odds-on favourites to win this years Lismore Netball division one premiership after downing sister team Daleys Demons last Saturday.

Led by centre Kristy Durheim, the experienced Daleys side was just too good for the more youthful Demons, winning 49-31.

The other division one game was very close, with the youthful Breakaways taking a 36-32 win against the more experienced Rous 1. Breakaways, who led narrowly at all three breaks, were well served by centre Jess Robinson and goal attack Marley Simmons, while the experienced shooting combination of Mandy Lisetto and Pauline Ianna was among Rous best.

In division two games last Saturday, the Woodlawn Herrons defeated the Cheeky Rats 35-13 and Racing Rats downed Woodlawn Falcons 31-27. In division three the Puff Rats did enough to knock off Spunk Rats 38-22 and All Saints beat Shooting Stars 31-43.

In other netball news, Lismore netballers have raised more than $1000 to assist the family of Rebecca and Kayla Warby, the Goonellabah sisters who died this month in a car accident near Lismore.
