Passion, fashion and beats

Beetroot combines the talents of some of the North Coasts most experienced musos to create music that is unpredictable, jazzy and groove-based. Beetroot will be part of the Passion Parade this Saturday.

Fashion parades are fun. Local fashion designers Cat Anderson from Nothing To Wear and Jeht Burgoyne from Flourish (both fashion shops in Lismore) have combined to produce an event that showcases the works of local designers and incorporates live music, visual arts and and a retro party. They have called the project Passion Parade. Cool.

This Saturday, August 26, Passion Parade will kick off upstairs at the piano bar and verandah of the Winsome Hotel in Lismore at 7pm with the wicked grooves of Beetroot. Then comes a fashion parade highlighting the creative work of some of the areas hottest designers.

Then its downstairs for a retro party.

Tickets are $10 from Flourish in Magellan Street (6622 6977) or Nothing To Wear (6622 2595) in the Star Court Arcade. Or at the door on the night. Warning: tickets are selling fast!

For more info phone Cat on 6622 2595.

Note: Beetroot will also perform at the Nimbin Hotel on Friday, September 1, from 7.30pm.
