Prudence prevails

This painting Down The Rabbit Hole by Prudence Lawrence is part of her exhibition in Lismore.

Prue, a young local artist, has her first solo exhibition on display at Goanna Bakery and Caf in Lismore.

Prues exhibition, a collection of mixed media pieces, was created throughout 2005 and 2006.

She has been strongly influenced by the whimsical and fantastical worlds created by illustrators such as Sydney Sime and Arthur Rackham. The exhibition runs until September 17.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
