Songwriters Soiree

The golden voice of Natalie Gay will feature at the Songwriters Collective gig in Lismore next Thursday. And Im glad.

Jamie Shaw is a local musician who took it upon himself to create a regular night where North Coast songwriters could showcase their wares. The response has been huge. Each gig consists of 10 songwriters doing two songs each plus a 40-minute feature set. (There are two wildcard spots so bring an instrument.)

Next Thursday, August 31, the Songwriters Collective will feature Natalie Gay and her seven-piece band at the Tatts Hotel in Lismore.

This girl can sing and she tends to surround herself with musicians that complement her sweet, sweet voice.

If youre interested in performing at future Songwriters Collective gigs or just want to keep informed about whos performing, email and get on the mailing list.

Gig starts at 8.30pm and entry is a humble $5/3.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
