Sax and this city

Jamie Oehlers (pictured) reaches for a high note on his sax. The Jazz N Blues night at the Rous Hotel in Lismore will also reach a high note when the Jamie Oehlers Quartet plays there next Tuesday, August 29.

Jamie was the winner of the 2003 World Saxophone Competition held at the Montreaux Jazz Festival (you could hear it from Lismore...). And the quartet was recently awarded the 2006 Bell Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Release for its album The Assemblers. Theyre hot.

These guys are constantly touring the world and its a real treat for Lismore to have them perform here.

Be early for a seat. Entry is $10/7 and the blowin starts at 8.30pm.
