A gift for dad thatll grow on him

Southern Cross Credit Unions development officer Lyndie Dennehy and senior loans officer Neale Wilson (whos also a father of two) with the Plant a Tree cards and trees you can purchase for Fathers Day.

Surprise dad with something other than socks this Fathers Day and give him the honour of being amongst the Forest of Fathers.

The Plant a Tree gift card is an initiative of Rainforest Rescue, an organisation that encourages individuals and businesses to get involved in rainforest restoration by buying cards of up to 500 trees.

Southern Cross Credit Union has come on board and is selling the cards through its North Coast branches, along with tickets to the Fatherhood Festival, which runs from September 1-3 in Bangalow.

Southern Cross Credit Union sponsored the first 380 trees of the Plant a Tree campaign, said Southern Cross Credit Unions development officer Lyndie Dennehy, and we have always supported the Fatherhood Festival. We like to be involved with the community and this is a chance to help the environment as well. Plus it makes buying a present for dad really easy.

Trees ordered for Fathers Day will be planted in the Forest of the Fathers within the grounds of the Crystal Castle, and there will also be a special Fathers Day tree planting at the Fatherhood Festival on Sunday, September 3, at Bangalow Park from 8-10am.

Plant a Tree cards can also be purchased at the Rainforest Rescue stall at the Fatherhood Festival, by phoning 1300 360 744 or online at
