Drink up for a good cause

Your discarded wine corks could help a Motor Neurone Disease (MND) sufferer into a new wheelchair could there be a better reason to open a bottle and start quaffing?

Take your corks real cork, not plastic along to the Alstonville Wollongbar Quota Clubs annual Arts and Craft Fair from August 26-27 at the Alstonville Leisure Centre. For every wool bale filled with corks, the Quotarians will earn a wheelchair for someone living in the Corowa/Rutherglen area, where there is a high incidence of MND.

For every 10 corks you donate youll get a ticket in the draw for a dozen bottles of wine donated by The Channon Hotel, giving you a chance to re-stock that depleted cellar.

With just over a week to go, the time to start drinking is now.
