Football FNC opens rep selection

After a less than successful year Football Far North Coast has made the decision to withdraw its teams from the State Youth League for next season and play more local games against the likes of the Gold Coast.

Furthermore, players who have been restricted to representative teams will be allowed to play for their clubs next season. Players have been restricted to either representative or club duties for three years and the change has relieved clubs, parents and coaches across the region. The change should increase the quality of the representative sides as players who have chosen to play with mates in their individual clubs will again be able to find a spot in the representative teams. The financial burden on parents with kids in the representative system also used to be prohibitively high and the costs are expected to fall significantly.

Trials for the new representative teams will be held in Alstonville on October 14 and 15 and at Burringbar on October 21 and 22.

For more details on the trials phone FFNC on 6625 1444.
