Gourmet Saturday

Communal feasting is a pleasure. Especially when theres a superb chef, fine music, fresh air and maybe a glass of something cool and refreshing. Mmmm. Lismore Feast is coming...

Its nearly Lismore Feast time again.

This annual gourmet indulgence will get lips asmacking and stomachs arumbling on Saturday, September 9, under the stars at Lismore City Hall. The guest chef for this year is Peter Conistis who is master of the kitchen at Sydneys Omega Restaurant which was recently named best new restaurant by, um, someone.

Peters cuisine is inspired by his Greek heritage. Hes in demand as a speaker about Greek foods and regularly writes for various publications. Hes published three books on modern Greek cuisine and hosts a gourmet safari to the Greek islands every year.

Okay, the guy knows his stuff.

And hell be preparing a six-course feast in Lismore which will be Greek inspired but with regional influences. (Prawns from Yamba, rabbit from Kyogle.) Vegetarians and celiacs will be catered for.

And of course there cant be food without wine and music. The wine will be provided by De Bortoli and selected to complement each course. And there will be a full bar service.

Quarteto Batida will supply the music to accompany digestion. With guitar maestro Jim Kelly and vibraphone man Kym Ambrose leading the band, plus Anje West (the singer from The View From Madeleines Couch) joining in occasionally, the evening is a sophisticated way to satisfy all your senses.

Tickets are $120. For bookings or more info visit www.norpa.org.au or call NORPA on 6622 0300.
