2NCR-FM is 30!

Encouraging people to help celebrate 2NCR-FMs 30th anniversary are (l-r) presenter and committee member Kevin Johnson, manager Dave Russell and sponsorship manager Steve Green.

2NCR-FM is celebrating its 30th birthday in August!

Throughout August the crew are dedicating one day to each year since the station went on air, reliving the music from that year.

Listeners, supporters and friends are also invited to a fundraising trivia night on Saturday, September 2, at the Italo Club in North Lismore from 7pm. Tables of six are wanted to join the fun, and therell be plenty of games, giveaways, prizes and a giant raffle (with a 68cm colour TV donated for first prize).

Most community radio stations dont last 30 years, so were very proud of that achievement, said sponsorship manager, Steve Green. One of the fabulous things about community radio is we can accommodate Work-for-the-Dole groups and work experience students, which gives them valuable insights and hands-on experience in this field. Being a community radio station we rely on the community to keep us going and unlike the commercial stations we cant bombard our listeners with sponsorship messages. Were here to entertain the people of Lismore but we need locals, both businesses and individuals, to dig deep so we can keep providing this important service. The trivia night is a major fundraiser for us, so come along and help us celebrate 30 years.

To book your table for the trivia night or to donate prizes phone Steve on 6620 3006... and stay tuned to 92.9 FM for all the greatest songs ever created.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
