The Craic is a weekly gig at Mary Gilhooleys in Lismore that showcases the diversity and depth of performance talent on the North Coast. And its been going from strength to strength. Thursday, August 17, Aroha, a fairly new act in the area, will step up to the Mary Gilhooley stage led by Rohen Davis. Think simple, unorthodox chords and smooth, breathy vocals supported by a tight, punchy rhythm section and laced with haunting saxophone stylings thats Aroha. Gig starts at 8.30pm.

Rosanna has designs on female taboo

Artist Rosanna Pimm uses 3500 porcelain tampons to created her large scale performance installation Riots of Passage in The Quad as part of The Lismore Women's Festival on International Women's Day. Laying down and de-constructing the mandala structure symbolises the impermanence of the menstrual cycle and an end to female inequality in the world.
