Four Lismore males have been arrested and charged with aggravated break and enter, stealing and assault after an incident at a house in Bridge Street, North Lismore, between 4am and 4.30am on Tuesday. The offenders, aged 27, 20, 19 and 15, allegedly broke into the house, waking the two male occupants, aged 25 and 35. A violent altercation ensued and the two men were seriously assaulted one of the victims had his previously broken arm allegedly hit and kicked. Police arrested the offenders a short time later still in possession of property stolen during the break-in, including clothing, a wallet and cigarettes. The four offenders will appear in Lismore Local Court.

Detectives have arrested and charged a 45-year-old Ballina man with malicious wounding after an altercation at a Ballina caravan park on Saturday morning around 4.20am. The victim, a 39-year-old Ballina man, received a slash to his right hand, a wound to his left chest and two wounds to his left shoulder. The offender received a severe laceration to his upper lip and both men were treated at Ballina Hospital for their injuries. The offender will appear in Ballina Local Court on August 17.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged for the alleged assault of a 45-year-old man in South Lismore last Wednesday. The victim sustained serious facial injuries and wounds to his back.

Residents of Palmers Road, McLeans Ridges, were disturbed around 10.30pm on Sunday night by a man seen in a local yard. Police could not locate him. Any information to Lismore Police on 6623 1599.

A green Holden Sedan was left sitting on bricks in Rifle Range Road, Wollongbar, after three mags and tyres were stolen from it around 2am on Wednesday morning. Any information to Ballina Police on 6681 8699.

A 79-year-old woman had her bag stolen around 3.45pm on Tuesday in Beach Street, Evans Head. A young person aged between 16 and 18 grabbed the womans purse while riding past on his bike. The woman was knocked to the ground and sustained minor injuries. Any information to Evans Head Police on 6682 4202.

A sporting facility in Brewster Street, Lismore (near the hockey fields) was damaged around 5.20pm on Tuesday afternoon. Any information to Lismore Police on 6623 1599.
