New group to raise flood awareness

As a result of feedback from the recent community meetings on flood issues, Lismore Council and the SES are forming a FloodSafe Reference Group to help develop a flood education plan for Lismore.

We are looking for local, community-minded people who would commit to a two-year term on the Reference Group, Cr King said. There are nine positions to be filled three from each of the flood affected sectors of North, South and central Lismore.

Nomination forms and terms of reference are available from Lismore Councils administration centre in Goonellabah or the CBD office in Magellan Street. Nominations close on August 11.
