Splendour in the double pass

After sifting through a huge pile of love songs some wonderful, some weird and some downright bad weve chosen the winner of our Splendour In The Grass competition.

This lucky person will receive a double pass to the event on July 22 and 23, and no debate will be entered into about our choice.

And the winner is (drum roll please...) Tarryn Corlet of Lismore! Hooray! The runner-up, who has scored himself five artist CDs, is Ryder Hallett of The Channon. Thanks to everyone who entered it was an agonising decision.

Here is Tarryns winning ballad.

Sticky sun at Splendour

Every year I remember

Your sullen sweet surrender

By the sea and in the long grass

In the sticky sun at Splendour

Did I scream or did I laugh?

Rolling in the long grass

A lot of fun but not much class

With that blister on your arse

And did we know it wouldnt last?

Rolling in the long grass

Lost the time, let it pass

You were long and tall and fast

And late at night I remember

Your sullen sweet surrender

By the sea and in the long grass

In the sticky sun at Splendour.
