A 49-year-old Mullumbimby man has been charged with several counts of fraud after swindling a 44-year-old Wardell woman out of almost $120,000. It is alleged the man coerced the woman into investing in a fraudulent racehorse purchase scheme. The man started the scam in February 2005 and received several payments from the victim over the next few months. Investigations are continuing.

Police have arrested two juveniles and expect to make more arrests in relation to a break and enter that occurred in Goonellabah on May 27. During the break-in thieves stole two laptops, a DVD player, a camera and a large amount of cash. Police recovered some of the property after last Thursdays arrests. Investigations are continuing.
