Brainy bunch put science under the microscope

Trinity Catholic College students Louise Higgins and Matt Fitzpatrick (rear) and Samantha Deaker and Kate Lennon may well be labelled brainiacs at school after coming second in the University of Queenslands first Brain Bee Challenge.

The students, who were runners up in the team event, competed against more than 200 other year 10 and 11 students from 30 schools across Australia, who had to complete activities that tested their knowledge of neuroscience.

The team was presented with two microscopes for their efforts, valued at over $6500, that will be used in science classes.
