Laughing in Byron

Last months Open Mike Stand Up Comedy at Why Not Restaurant in Jonson Street, Byron Bay, was a huge success. A full house hooted for more when the comedy find of the month, the mysterious James M, performed his surreal style of stand up for the first time. Thats the great thing about an open mic night you never quite know what youre in for.

Every month a professional comedian MCs the room. Next Wednesday, May 31, Gold Coast comedian Steve Allison (pictured) brings his laconic charm to the stage. This laidback ocker bloke is in demand all over the country. (He did some brilliant shows at the last Woodford Folk Festival.)

The son of circus performers, he was forced to juggle otherwise he wasnt allowed to do his homework. Mandy Nolan will also be appearing, trying out a few new gags as well.

The show kicks off at 8pm and entry is $5. Or try the $25 deal for a meal, show and a glass of wine. Make sure you book on 6680 7994.
