Big moves little feet

Big Feet Little Feet is an annual showcase of new contemporary dance and physical theatre put together by NORPAs Dance Action (under the exciting direction of the exciting Emma Newman).

The theme this year is Axis a line about which a figure revolves. Each of the 12 performers (or groups) has choreographed a piece specifically for this 90-minute show.

The assembled talent includes Natasha Middleton (formally principal dancer with the West Australian Ballet), Archana Samantha, and Simon Adams (a soloist in the London Ballet Theatre, the Kiel Ballet in Germany and the London City Ballet). Theres also Shiara Astle and the Canberra Tongan Troupe (who perform Pacific Islander dance with local modern influence), Ange Keenan (Tango), John Brock and Sally (Cuban Salsa), Jade Whitworth, Cassandra House, Danielle McIntosh, Virginia Norrie and Contact Earth, plus of course the princess of pirouette, Emma Newman.

Big Feet Little Feet is on at the Byron Community Centre this Friday and Saturday, May 26-27, at 8pm. Tickets are $18/14/10 and available on 6685 5659.

Therell also be a special condensed one-hour school matinee on Friday, May 26, at 1pm. Tickets for this show are $12/8 and bookings (6680 9085) are essential for student groups.
