Family dynamic

Creative father and daughter duo Gerry and Holly Willis have teamed up to present a new exhibition Tell Your Father He Has Done An Exceptional Job at the Roxy Gallery in Kyogle.

Father Gerry is both an accomplished musician and painter, who has been painting since 1983 when he established his own gallery near Wagga Wagga. Having spent time working as a sheep shearer, Gerry had plenty of experience to draw upon, and he began painting images of rural life and the early settlers of the Riverina region. Today, he continues to express his great love of the country through his work.

Daughter Holly remembers always watching her dad paint, and loved being involved in their family painting days. She decided to pursue arts as a career and recently graduated from Southern Cross University with a Bachelor of Visual Arts.

Holly often uses horses as a metaphor for lifes journey and works predominantly in oils, also incorporating fabric and bead work into her images. For Holly this exhibition is a chance to thank her father for instilling in her a love and respect for art.

Tell Your Father He Has Done An Exceptional Job runs until June 3.
