Women are funny

She headlines at comedy clubs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney; she entertained the punters at the recent MardiGrass; shes Ss friend and shoulder to cry on.... Ladies and gentlemen, the fabulous Fiona McGary!!!! who will headline the Funny Girls comedy gig in Byron next Monday.

Women are funny. But stand-up comedy is a tough, male-dominated game and for women its an even tougher road to follow. But for people who can give birth and live with men and PMS, stand-up comedy is their rightful artform. Watch out. The funny women are coming!

Our local comedienne (I love that word) Mandy Nolan has put together a comedy show starring five women. With her glorious self as MC, Funny Girls will feature Fiona McGary, Renee Searles, Sikim Wan, Ellen Briggs and Kimberly Davenport.

Fiona McGary, 2002 winner of the National Raw Comedy Competition, will headline. Those who were at the MardiGrass Comedy Club will have witnessed the comedic charms and laconic wit of this woman.

Supported by local comics, Fiona will lead the charge for female comic insight.

No womens show on the North Coast would be complete without the big girl herself, Ms Mandy Nolan as MC. whos just reurned from slayin them in Hervey Bay.

Funny Girls (a comedy storm in a D cup) is on next Monday, May 22, at the Byron Bowling Club. Tickets are $15/20 and can be booked on 6685 4045 or bought at the club. Show starts at 8pm.
