Ben at Bangalow for Jazz fest

Move over Billy, here comes the new piano man, Ben Winkelman. Hell be banging ivory at the upcoming North Coast Jazz Festival in Bangalow.

The Ben Winkelman Trio is a contemporary jazz piano trio that plays all sorts of music Herbie Hancock, Jelly Roll Morton, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, gospel and Bartok.

The trio will be spinning its jazz magic at the North Coast Jazz Festival in Bangalow from June 9-12, where theyll be promoting their debut CD Stomps, Pieces & Variations.

The North Coast Jazz Festival, now in its second year, will bring some of Australias best jazz acts to the little burgh of Bangalow where festival goers can hear and see whats happening in the contemporary world of jazz. Using four venues right in the pretty village the North Coast Jazz Festival provides a diversity of musical styles with all the comfort and production standard that venues in a well-serviced village like Bangalow can provide.

The trio is your classic three-piece with Ben on piano, Rodrigo Aravena on double bass and Ben Vanderwal on drums.
