Nyrees a real Life Saver

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter based in Lismore has a fresh new face in the form of Nyree Epplett-Higgins (pictured), who was recently appointed as business development manager.

The Broadwater resident will be in charge of fundraising for the organisation and has a big job ahead of her, with $1.8 million needed from the community every year to keep the service in the air saving lives.

Nyree has an extensive background in event management, marketing and fundraising, but she is best known locally as the former events and cultural liaison officer for Richmond Valley Council.

The service is moving into its 25th year next year and the new role is very exciting for me its made an incredible difference in the lives of so many people, Nyree said. Im currently looking at number of new initiatives, ideas and programs to raise awareness and revenue. We all want to see this vital service continue serving the northern region for another 25 years and beyond.
