Platypus postcards

This painting Turtle Season by Freda Jarrett is one of the many artworks vying to be a winner in the annual Postcards from the Valley of Surprises art prize in Casino.

This Friday, April 7, Platypus Gallery in Casino will announce the winners of its annual art prize, Postcards from the Valley of Surprises, at 6.30pm.

The $500 Best in Show prize has stirred up a lot of interest from emerging and professional artists across the region. With the Richmond Valley as its theme, the exhibition displays in artistic form the many aspects of the Valley of Surprises.

Art lovers should get down to Platypus Gallery, view the collection of entries and then cast a vote in the popular choice category.

To make the experience even more rewarding there will be local cuisine and wines (accompanied by acoustic music) as you explore the delights of the Richmond Valley through the artists eyes.

For more info phone the gallery on 6662 3566.
