Win a night out with Kearnsy!

Former Wallaby hooker and senior sports commentator Phil Kearns (pictured) will be in Lismore next Wednesday, March 22, as the special guest speaker at the Friends of Far North Coast Rugby pre-season fundraiser.

Kearns, a popular and entertaining speaker, was thrust into the media spotlight recently when he accidentally ran over his daughter in the driveway of his home. Mercifully, Phils daughter has managed a miraculous recovery and the accident has focused attention on the poor visibility inherent in high wheel based 4WDs.

Phil Kearns played 61 Tests for Australia and captained Australia on 10 occasions as well as being a member of the victorious World Cup teams in 1991 and 1999. Phil is now an integral part of the Fox Sport Rugby Team and will be speaking on the behind-the-scenes happenings of the Super 14s.

The dinner will be held at the Goonellabah RSL Sports Club and tickets are $65 or $60 for tables of eight or more. The ticket includes pre dinner drinks, wine and a buffet dinner. All proceeds go to the development of rugby on the North Coast.

For information and bookings phone Far North Coast Rugby on 6622 4337.

Freebie: Far North Coast Rugby has kindly donated a double pass to the dinner for one lucky Echo reader. To go in the draw to win phone 6622 2888 between 10 & 10.15am next Monday, March 20, and answer this question: Against which team did Phil Kearns score his famous match winning try. Hint: They have a female PM.
