So long Squire...

After 32 years pounding the halls of Lismore Base Hospital and caring for the regions sick and injured, much-loved nurse Rosanne Squire (pictured) has retired.

Lismore Base Hospital workers came out in force to farewell Rosanne last week, holding a special ceremony of thanks before an honour guard of staff lined the halls as she left the hospital for the very last time.

In my 25 years in health I have never witnessed such heartfelt sadness Rosanne has touched the lives of thousands of staff and patients over her long nursing career, said Lismore Base Hospital executive officer, Dan Madden. Many staff spoke emotionally about the positive impact Rosanne had made on them, both as people and as nurses. There was much sorrow and reflection as they said a final goodbye to their colleague, mentor and friend.
