Love is off the air...
Isnt love a wonderful thing!
Following a recent marriage proposal, ABC North Coasts morning show host for almost 10 years, Fiona Wyllie (pictured), is pulling up stumps and moving to Bonny Hills on the mid North Coast.
Fiona will present the morning show at ABC North Coasts sister station in Port Macquarie, but shell still be heard on local radio from time to time during linked programs.
Its scary to jump off the cliff and move away to a new town, a new job and a new family, but its an exciting adventure, Fiona said. My job here has been one of the most challenging of my life and its such a colourful, crazy and beautiful place to live. Im sad about all the friends and wonderful people here that I wont be seeing all the time, but Ill definitely stay in touch. I might be leaving the Northern Rivers but a part of it will always stay with me, plus its a great place for holidays!
ABC North Coast regional manager, Martin Corben, said Fiona will be be sorely missed.
Fiona has a great depth of knowledge for the region, the various communities that make it such a special place, and a broad range of skills to bring those local issues to radio in a very engaging and warm manner, he said. Not only that, but shes always good for a bit of goss! Well miss her, and wish her all the best for her new life.
Fiona is the second staff member ABC North Coast has farewelled recently, with regional news editor Tricia Karp also leaving last week to prepare for the arrival of her new baby.
Both positions will be filled in the near future.
