Jack of all jazz

The Jack Thorncraft Trio (pictured) will grace the Jazz n Blues night at the Rous Hotel in Lismore next Tuesday, February 28.

Jack Thorncraft rose to prominence in Sydney when he returned from three years in London playing, recording and refining his jazz chops.

In the 70s and 80s he played with The Jazz Co-op, which included Roger Frampton, Howie Smith and Phil Treloar. Jack has played with everyone and anyone of jazz importance in this wide wasted land as well as slapping the bass with many a visiting international jazz-person.

A couple of decades ago Jack moved to the North Coast where he has found fertile ground for his ever-growing jazz explorations.

One such harvest is the Jack Thorncraft Trio featuring Jack on double bass, Steve Russell on keyboard and Dave Sanders on drums.

The gig starts at 8.30pm and costs $7/5.
