League kicks in for kids

Former general manager of Australian Rugby League and Men of League member Bob Abbott (right) presents a $4,000 cheque to Our Kids fundraising coordinator Rebekka Battista with Men of League Northern Rivers assistant secretary/treasurer Phil Chesham and childrens ward patient Tamika Obst.

The childrens ward at Lismore Base Hospital received a $4,000 donation from the Men of League group this week, which was raised from a charity race day held in Ballina last year.

The Men of League group holds a variety of charity functions each year and then splits the funds between their own charity and local causes.

The $4,000 donation will be used to buy monitoring equipment for children who have life-threatening illnesses.
