Surf flick

Andrew Kidman has been taking his latest film Glass Love on tour. This Sunday, February 12, it screens at the Byron Community Centre from 8pm.

Glass Love is a movie about the other side of surfing. While there is some world-class surfing from the likes of Tom and Joe Curren, Neal Purchase Jr and Derek Hynd, Glass Love is more about the emotions and relationships created within surfing and the generational continuance of the love for surfing.

Set to the melodies of Kidman himself, as well as Cat Power, Neil Young and more, this is a mellow trip that makes you walk out of the cinema with a different, more positive outlook on surfing.

So, get along and enjoy the breaks and have a chat with the filmmaker himself. Therell also be a preview of the new film Hydrodynamica featuring David Rastavich.

Tickets are $15 at the door on the night.
