A treasured landscape
Two new exhibitions Alchemy by Keith Cameron and Landscapes by Anita Hochman will go on show this Friday, January 27, at the Lismore Regional Gallery.
Keith is a Tabulam artist who explores the concept of treasure through metals and found objects, which he uses to create sculptures of all shapes and sizes. He calls his exhibition Alchemy because he, as an artist, is on a search to transform base metals into artistic gold.
As part of his exhibition visitors are invited to spend a morning at Keiths Sculpture Park at Tabulam this Saturday, January 28. The day trip leaves the gallery at 8.30am. Phone 6622 2209.
Anita Hochman is an artist and lecturer at Southern Cross University who has just returned from the Centre dArt Marnay (a 17th century French chateau) where she met with other artists from all over the world.
Landscapes is her 11th solo exhibition and her paintings are responses to landscapes she has encountered both here on the North Coast and in Europe.
The primary element in this body of work is light, she said, employing the fluid and filmic visual potential of a reduced palette of silver, graphite and black.
Anita will give an artist talk at the gallery this Saturday, January 28, at 11am. Everyone is welcome.
Alchemy and Landscapes will both be on show until February 25.
